Taking a little break

I have been working pretty much full time at the clinic lately and have decided that I am going to take a little break from working on my shop on Etsy. My mother is going in for surgery on the 25th of this month, plus it is that time of year again that I am out in my flower beds and prepping my veggie garden for planting. I will still be spending some time sewing and making lots of new things and when I am ready I will start listing them.

I am out of dried catnip from last year's harvest and it will be another couple weeks before my new plants are big enough to start harvesting. So until then, for those of you who are interested in the ones that are already listed, I will give you all a discount if you choose to purchase one of them. Just write me a note in "notes to seller" BLOG DISCOUNT and I will give you a 20% refund.

Give your kitten a flower

I spent the morning yesterday sewing up a storm. I had quite a few ideas I wanted to try out with my catnip toys, and this one is my favorite.

Handmade upcycled hot pot pad holders

Here is something a bit different for me. I needed some hot pot pad holders for my dining room table and so I made a bunch. After I was done I decided to take a couple and offer them in my shop.

What do you think?

Grocery bag storage

So we all are trying to do our bit for the environment, from following the 3 R's (reduce, reuse, recycle) to upcycling in our crafts. Well, here is one way that you may find helpful.

No matter how hard we try, we still end up getting plastic bags when shopping. I am talking about bread bags, milk bags, and so on. So rather than just throwing those away, why not store them in one of my handmade bag dispensers and pull one out whenever you take your dog for a walk ? (And you know what you need those bags for!) Keep one in the kitchen, and pull one out to store those little scraps of meat/fat/bones etc and store them in the freezer until garbage day. No mess, no unpleasant smells. And the bonus is, when it is garbage day those frozen lumps will stay frozen much longer than spread throughout the bag (also helps keep rodents and other critters away from your garbage cans and bags).

So, here is my newest plastic bag holder, just listed in my shop.

A most Frustrated Frog

I do so love to make froggies LOL.
Here is another one, this time he has red eyes, that are a bit scrunched up, making him look very peeved at the world. I wonder if he knows that he is to be given to a cat to play with? Isn't he adorable?
