Woodchip line carvings

As I promised earlier this month, here are the photos of my woodchip line carvings I made for gifts this holiday season.

All are carved on Basswood.

Wood chip Line carving

Here is the finished pieces for two carvings I posted earlier. I sanded them and varnished them 3 times. I did not put anything on the back of them for hanging as the recipients may wish to use something different than a ribbon.

And this one is a cute little snowman with snowflakes in the corners.

I have been practicing more with my carving. Here is a cute little choir angel. I need to definately work on the face and spacing. Not too bad though!



Once again, it is not really chip carving, as I am still doing more line carving than chipping.

Simple, yet elegant lines.
